Bogard Press - Illustrations - Volume 1

Here is a sampling of the numerous illustrations I designed for Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and various children's material while working at Bogard Press between the years of 2014 and late 2017. The images in Part 1 primarily convey scenes from Saul and David's lives, but a few extras have been added. Underneath each image will be an explanation of its usage and theme if necessary. Most of this artwork was produced for a new curriculum at the time called SPLAT that had have a paint theme involving vibrant swaths of color and paint buckets present for good measure.

Final Notes

It would be difficult to pinpoint a definite number of material I designed, but here is an attempt for a little perspective. For one age group in one program, there were 14 leaflets, 1 sticker sheet, and an average of 20 visuals per quarter. Therefore, one age group in one year accounted for 56 leaflets, 4 sticker sheets, and approximately 80 visuals. Multiple programs and age groups were handled simultaneously across adult and children's material, so I believe 1000 is a conservative minimum number for the amount of printed material I created and refurbished.

I would like to add a disclaimer that though I believe it is worthwhile to teach Biblical stories and discuss theological beliefs and concepts, I do not necessarily support the specific teachings, writings, or assumptions in the leaflets and visuals.

All visuals shown on this post are owned and copyrighted by Bogard Press and the Baptist Sunday School Committee of the American Baptist Association.
